Documentary film War Children tells about seven children among the over 70 000 that were sent back and forth between Finland and Sweden during the Winter and Continuation Wars, 1939-1944, in the midst of the WW2. Separation from their parents, the journey to a new land and to a new family is told from a child's perspective.
The film tells about the reality of Finnish families during war. Hopefully, the documentary film enables us to understand better the situation of the people, who today have to leave their homes and send their children to safety.
The stories and the recollections of the protagonists are both painfully moving as well as funny and utterly heart warming.
